Refund Policy

This Policy sets out the rules for withdrawal of subscription and refunds for GPLX paid reports. GPLX paid reports are digital content delivered immediately upon payment. Under Article 17(2) of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce of the Republic of Korea (the 'E-Commerce Act'), the right of withdrawal may be restricted once delivery of digital content has begun.

This document is a GPLX policy notice. Wording and policy may be improved during operation; major changes will be announced separately.

Article 1. Digital Content Nature and Immediate Delivery

GPLX paid reports qualify as digital content within the meaning of Article 17(2)(5) of the E-Commerce Act. Upon successful payment, the report is generated and made available for viewing without delay.

Because delivery begins at the moment of payment, the User's right of withdrawal for change-of-mind reasons may be restricted from that point onward, in accordance with Article 17(2)(5) of the E-Commerce Act.

  • Generation: the report is computed from the User's responses and stored against the User's email-based access right.
  • Access: the User can view the report immediately on the result page and re-open it through the email access link.
  • Preview: a free result page, a sample result page, and a public method page are provided as the trial-use surface referred to in Article 17(6) of the E-Commerce Act.

By proceeding with payment, the User acknowledges that the report is digital content delivered immediately and that the right of withdrawal may be restricted once delivery has begun.

Article 2. Pre-purchase Checks

Before payment, please confirm that the selected product matches what you intend to read. The Company makes the following items visible on the product page and the pre-payment screen.

  • Whether the product is a personal report or a two-person comparison report.
  • The scope of interpretation each product opens (for example: hidden-axis mini, personal basic, personal deep, PDF keepsake, compatibility, relationship).
  • That the PDF keepsake report covers one personal result and does not include the compatibility or relationship report.
  • That the compatibility and relationship reports require two results and, for the relationship report, the counterparty's consent.
  • That results are interpretive references and do not guarantee any specific outcome.
  • That, at the pre-payment screen, the User must provide an express consent (a separate checkbox) confirming immediate delivery and the resulting restriction on the right of withdrawal.

Payment will not proceed without the express pre-payment consent. The consent is recorded together with the payment.

Article 3. Right of Withdrawal

Under Article 17 of the E-Commerce Act, a consumer may withdraw a subscription within seven (7) days of the date of the contract or the date the goods were received, subject to the exceptions in Article 17(2).

For GPLX paid reports, Article 17(2)(5) applies: where the digital content within the meaning of Article 2(5) of the Framework Act on Cultural Industry Promotion has been provided, the right of withdrawal may be restricted.

Article 17(6) further requires the operator to clearly indicate that withdrawal is restricted, or to provide a trial-use product, so that the exercise of the right of withdrawal is not impeded. The Company satisfies this obligation through the free result page, the sample result page, and the public method page.

Notwithstanding the above, the Company remains liable for damages caused by its intentional or grossly negligent conduct or by inadequate display or advertising, under the E-Commerce Act and the Content Industry Promotion Act.

Article 4. State-based Refund Scenarios

The Company determines refund eligibility based on the recorded state of the payment and of the report. The principal scenarios are as follows.

  • [Cancellation before payment] Payment has not been completed. Outcome: no charge is recorded; no refund is required.
  • [Paid, report not generated] paidAt is recorded but generatedAt is missing. Outcome: full refund.
  • [Generation error] An errorCode is recorded during generation. Outcome: the Company retries first; if retries fail, a full refund is issued.
  • [Generated but not yet opened] generatedAt is recorded but firstOpenedAt is missing. Outcome: a single courtesy refund may be considered on a one-time, good-faith basis, on request.
  • [Generated and opened] firstOpenedAt is recorded. Outcome: withdrawal for change-of-mind reasons is restricted under Article 17(2)(5) of the E-Commerce Act.
  • [PDF downloaded] pdfDownloadedAt is recorded. Outcome: withdrawal for change-of-mind reasons is restricted. If the downloaded file is defective, the Company will re-deliver the file at no additional charge.
  • [Duplicate payment] Two or more payments are recorded for the same orderGroupId. Outcome: the later payment is refunded in full.
  • [Incorrect product purchased] The product actually delivered does not match the product paid for, or display or advertising was unclear and this is established. Outcome: a refund or a price-difference adjustment is provided.
  • [Relationship report — counterparty consent not reached] No consentAt is recorded before inviteExpiredAt. Outcome: the order is automatically cancelled and a full refund is issued.

These scenarios are read against the recorded payment and report state. They do not limit the Company's liability for intentional or grossly negligent conduct or for inadequate display or advertising.

Article 5. Refund Procedure

Refunds are requested through the support channel published on the site.

  • How to request: contact the support email with the order identifier (the email used at payment, the date of payment, and the product) and a brief description of the reason.
  • Initial review: the Company will confirm whether a refund is available within three (3) business days of receiving the request.
  • Execution: once approved, the Company initiates the refund with the payment provider within three (3) business days. Depending on the payment method and the provider, the actual credit may take an additional five (5) to ten (10) business days to appear.
  • Records: refund decisions and processing are recorded together with the payment record, in accordance with the retention rules in the Privacy Policy.

If the requested information is incomplete (for example, the order cannot be identified), the Company will contact the User to obtain it; the review timer runs from when the information is complete.

Article 6. Limitations

Relevant law and the policies of the payment providers take precedence over this Policy where they prescribe a more protective rule for consumers or where they govern the technical mechanics of the refund.

In particular, the applicable provisions of the E-Commerce Act, the Content Industry Promotion Act, and the consumer-protection rules of the Republic of Korea prevail over any conflicting wording here.

The refund window, the refund method per payment instrument, and the timing of the actual credit may be subject to the policy of the payment provider (Toss Payments Inc. for domestic payments and Stripe, Inc. for international payments).

Matters not set out in this Policy are governed by the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, and applicable law.
